Baseball Recap: Cobleskill-Richmondville Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Cobleskill-Richmondville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Catskill Cats on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Elijah Barr made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Simon O'Neil was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brandon Rotman was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Cobleskill-Richmondville, bringing their record up to 15-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Catskill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

As of now, neither Cobleskill-Richmondville nor the Cats have any future games scheduled.
