Basketball Recap: Parkside Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Parkside extended their home winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Colby Murphy. The Parkside Eagles put the hurt on the Paul Public Charter International Pirates with a sharp 84-61 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Murphy, who posted 24 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Jerron Joseph, who scored ten points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Parkside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Paul Public Charter International, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Parkside will head out on the road to face off against Thurgood Marshall Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Parkside is facing Thurgood Marshall Academy at the right time seeing as Thurgood Marshall Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Paul Public Charter International, they will face off against Friendship Collegiate Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
