Softball Game Preview: Babcock Trailblazers vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs

The Babcock Trailblazers will head out to square off against the DeSoto County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Babcock is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Babcock's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Lehigh as Babcock made off with a 7-0 win. The Trailblazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, DeSoto County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 3-0.

The team relied heavily on Juliette Wolcott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

DeSoto County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Babcock, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Babcock came up short against DeSoto County in their previous matchup back in February, falling 8-5. Can Babcock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
