Basketball Recap: Deer Park Comes Up Short

Deer Park lost against Dickinson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Deer Park Deer lost 58-35 to the Dickinson Gators. While losing is never fun, the Deer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 546th, while the Gators are ranked 158th).

It was another big night for David Chong, who posted 11 points along with seven assists and five steals for Dickinson. Another player making a difference was James Turner, who had eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Deer Park and nudges their season record down to 12-19. As for Dickinson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Deer Park has already played their next contest, a 65-51 loss against Clear Falls on the 8th. As for Dickinson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-55 victory against Clear Creek on the 8th.
