Baseball Game Preview: Memphis East Mustangs vs. Cordova Wolves

The Memphis East Mustangs will square off against the Cordova Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memphis East is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Memphis East is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Overton on Tuesday. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 11-2.

Memphis East saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Kmet, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Cordova had taken Southwind down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end last Tuesday. The Wolves fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 12-11. The loss was the Wolves' first of the season.

Logan Chapman and Terralonce Parker stepped up to the plate in a big way. Chapman scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Parker scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Noahrrentine Barrentine, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Memphis East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cordova, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
