Baseball Game Preview: East Rutherford Cavaliers vs. Forbush Falcons

The East Rutherford Cavaliers will square off against the Forbush Falcons on Tuesday. East Rutherford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

East Rutherford is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They beat West Lincoln by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Forbush entered their tilt with Community School of Davidson on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Spartans.

Forbush got a great performance from Luke Hutchens as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Hutchens has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bo Moxley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Noah Haughwout was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Forbush's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for East Rutherford, their record is now 24-0.

East Rutherford skirted past Forbush 4-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2016. Do the Cavaliers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
