Basketball Recap: Fideles Christian Comes Up Short

Fideles Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 69-54 fall against the Excel Christian Academy Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 85-69 back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Fideles Christian lost, don't look at Xander Lipinski. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 14 en route to 27 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Shadburn, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Excel Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Chappell out in front who went 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. Kamarrion Profit was another key player, going 7 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Fideles Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Excel Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Fideles Christian has already played their next contest, a 76-35 win against Killian Hill Christian on the 24th. As for Excel Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-59 loss against Murray County on the 25th.
