New Haven had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers, sneaking past 2-1. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Annika Koepke paced New Haven's offense, picking up nine kills. Koepke got some help from Sophia Smith and her 12 assists. Aniyah Simmerman controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

New Haven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Mississinewa on the 16th. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Fort Wayne Northrop on the 16th.
