Volleyball Recap: Darlington Find Success

Darlington's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Fort Atkinson Blackhawks by a score of 2-0. The Redbirds were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Blackhawks, so the Redbirds were just returning the favor.

Darlington's offense was headlined by Maddie Gratz and Lilly Ritchie, who picked up five kills apiece. Ritchie really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. Catie Hartwig controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Darlington's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Fort Atkinson, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Darlington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Reedsburg on the 13th. As for Fort Atkinson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Lodi on the 13th.
