Volleyball Recap: Covington Has No Trouble Against Craigmont

Covington's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Craigmont Chiefs as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won four in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Covington took every set by at least 22 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-3, 25-3.

Ava McCalla paced Covington's offense, picking up 13 kills. McCalla got some help from Caroline Cole and her 21 assists. Cole also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Rowan Maxwell, each putting up nine.

Covington's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Craigmont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Looking ahead, Covington will take on Millington Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Craigmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
