Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Bloomfield rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Deming Wildcats, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by just one run.

Blake Spencer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trae Woods, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Manuel Chaviarria was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Bloomfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Deming, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

Bloomfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
