Football Game Preview: Valentine vs. Amherst Broncos

Valentine will square off against the Amherst Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valentine will be strutting in after a victory while Amherst will be coming in after a loss.

Valentine is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Mitchell on Friday. Valentine walked away with a 28-21 win over Mitchell.

Parker Chavez was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 87 yards and one score. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.

Valentine didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Trystan Beebout, Dominic Beebout, and Colin Bailey picked up one apiece. Dominic's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 receiving yards. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Amherst came up short against Hershey on Friday and fell 22-14. The Broncos were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Panthers in the fourth quarter 8-0.

Amherst's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Valentine, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Valentine against Amherst when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 37-8 win. Will Valentine repeat their success, or does Amherst has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
