Basketball Recap: Montgomery Central Comes Up Short

Montgomery Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Union Pines Vikings 80-26. The Timberwolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Boston Britt and Christopher Curtis, who each put up six points. Curtis also led the team in rebounds with five.

Union Pines got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaydon Harrell out in front who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and four steals. Jaylen Kyle was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.

Montgomery Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Union Pines, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Montgomery Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-34 defeat against North Moore on the 27th. As for Union Pines, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-48 win against Glenn on the 27th.
