Baseball Game Preview: Melrose Buffaloes vs. Dora Coyotes

The Melrose Buffaloes are taking a road trip to take on the Dora Coyotes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Melrose has four straight victories, Dora has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Melrose played against Elida on Friday and won via forfeit.

Melrose got a massive performance out of Cy Draper, who went 4-for-6 with six RBI, three doubles, and one run. Those three doubles gave Draper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Forgue, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Dora came up short against Gateway Christian on Friday, falling 13-1.

Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Melrose, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Melrose took their victory against Dora when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 15-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
