Recap: Denver East Angels vs. Columbine Rebels

The Denver East Angels can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They breezed by Columbine on the road to the tune of 82-52. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 58-24.

Among those leading the charge was True Scott, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 4 assists. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. James Murray was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Columbine lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cash Boykin. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Boykin's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Mooney, who scored four points.

Denver East's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Columbine, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.

Denver East won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mullen at 11:00 a.m. on December 16th. Mullen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Denver East likes a good challenge. Columbine won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Legend at 2:00 p.m. on December 16th. Legend presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Columbine in Colorado (Legend is ranked 40th, while Columbine is ranked 267th).
