Basketball Recap: Cranston East Takes a Loss

Cranston East lost against Johnston back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cranston East Thunderbolts had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Johnston Panthers. The Thunderbolts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Johnston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alanna Colon, who posted 24 points. Those 24 points gave Colon a new career-high. Annabella Gesauldi was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Cranston East's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Johnston, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cranston East will venture away from home to square off against East Providence at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. East Providence will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Cranston East surely won't give up without a fight. Johnston has already played their next game (against Smithfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
