Basketball Game Preview: Green Canyon Wolves vs. Mountain Crest Mustangs

Green Canyon and Mountain Crest are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Wolves will be home for the holidays to greet the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Green Canyon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season.

Mountain Crest will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Green Canyon extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The stars were shining brightly for the Wolves in a 60-42 win over Sky View. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Talyssa Nelson produced another solid performance going 7-for-13 to rack up 21 points. The game was her fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Kloey Tensmeyer was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Mountain Crest unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a blow against Maple Mountain, falling 72-45. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Green Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Mountain Crest, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

Green Canyon came up short against Mountain Crest in their previous matchup back in January, falling 52-44. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
