El Capitan and Santana are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Vaqueros will venture away from home to challenge the Sultans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, El Capitan didn't have quite enough to beat Christian and fell 3-2.

El Capitan started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 24-26, 25-23, 25-20, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Santana came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Steele Canyon with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday.

Santana never let Steele Canyon on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 27-25.

El Capitan's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Santana, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

El Capitan skirted past Santana 3-2 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vaqueros since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
