Baseball Recap: Pottsgrove Takes a Loss

Pottsgrove made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pope John Paul II, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Falcons fell just short of Pope John Paul II by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Falcons have struggled against Pope John Paul II recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Shane O'Hanlon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, Pottsgrove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Hornak, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Pottsgrove's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Pope John Paul II, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pottsgrove and Pope John Paul II will both be playing Norristown the next time they take the field. Pope John Paul II will head out to face the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
