Basketball Recap: Mars Hill Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mars Hill Academy). They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Germantown Christian Conquerors 54-52. The victory was some much needed relief for Mars Hill Academy as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Germantown Christian still got an impressive performance from Zach Sharrett, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Sharrett is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ian Francis, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Mars Hill Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Germantown Christian, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 7-6.

Mars Hill Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Germantown Christian, they will welcome Varsity Opponent at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
