Softball Recap: Ruidoso Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Ruidoso has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.78 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They blew past the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors 24-14. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mea Trujillo was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Dustine Alvarado was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Ruidoso was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .419 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.

Ruidoso's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Teresa, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ruidoso will welcome Raton at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Teresa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cobre at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
