Baseball Recap: Carlmont Takes a Loss

Carlmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Menlo-Atherton Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Wednesday.

Carlmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Massey, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Massey hit this season.

Carlmont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Menlo-Atherton, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Carlmont will head out to take on Palo Alto at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Menlo-Atherton, they will be playing at home against Pioneer at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
