Baseball Recap: Harnett Central Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Harnett Central can now relate to. They fell 7-3 to South Johnston on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for Harnett Central in their meetings with South Johnston: they've now lost six in a row.

Harnett Central got a good showing from Luke Wallace, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wallace is becoming a predictor of Harnett Central's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Brayden Sears made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
