Preview: Victor Valley vs. Chaparral
Victor Valley and Chaparral meet up on Friday this week after opposite experiences in their previous matchups. Victor Valley simply didn't have it last week, losing 57 - 12 to Apple Valley. Meanwhile, Chaparral was able to grind out a solid victory over Redlands last week, winning 24 - 13.
Victor Valley's game was pretty much decided by the half last week, where the squad found itself down 30 - 0. The offensive line was plagued by an aggressive Apple Valley defense that sacked the quarterback six times. The defeat brought Victor Valley down to 2-2.
As for Chaparral, it got an early lead and maintained it, starting each quarter with an advantage. Junior Elgin Vasquez was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he ran for 95 yards and also punched in two touchdowns). The victory got Chaparral up to 3-1.
Chaparral is looking to hand Victor Valley its first back-to-back losses of the season. We'll find out if Victor Valley can avoid giving it that satisfaction.
