Recap: Potosi/Cassville vs. River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats
Potosi/Cassville's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 66-46 loss at the hands of River Ridge/Scales Mound. Potosi/Cassville lost against River Ridge/Scales Mound in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-30 score last time.
It was another big night for Gwen Miller, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds for River Ridge/Scales Mound. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Emily Wiederholt, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Potosi/Cassville's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Potosi/Cassville will look to defend their home court on Friday against River Ridge at 7:30 p.m. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, they will head out on the road to face off against West Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Carroll will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while River Ridge/Scales Mound is ranked 222nd).
