Basketball Recap: Oxford Prep Comes Up Short

Oxford Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 55-37 fall against the Roxboro Community Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-46 back in December of 2024.

John Little was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds for Roxboro Community. Little continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Mason Clark was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Oxford Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Roxboro Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Oxford Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-37 defeat against Voyager Academy on the 28th. Roxboro Community has also already played their next game, a 72-51 loss against Vance Charter on the 28th.
