Basketball Recap: Little Village Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Little Village and St. Patrick squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Little Village had to settle for second. They were dealt a 91-38 defeat at the hands of the St. Patrick Shamrocks. The Phoenix were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-13.

When it comes to explaining why Little Village lost, don't look at Pablo Rodriguez. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in each of the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Barak Hudson, who posted six points.

The loss snapped Little Village's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 27-7 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points over those games. As for St. Patrick, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 26-7.
