Baseball Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Springfield Southeast Spartans

MacArthur hasn't had much luck against Springfield Southeast recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Generals will face off against the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

MacArthur is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Saturday. They fell 7-3 to Warrensburg-Latham.

MacArthur saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamison England, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Dre'Tarius Stewart also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Mt. Pulaski hit Springfield Southeast with a four-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans lost 9-1 to the Hilltoppers. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Hilltoppers: they've now lost six in a row.

MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Springfield Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
