Softball Recap: Thornton Academy Takes a Loss

If Thornton Academy was feeling good fresh off their 17-0 takedown of Falmouth on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Bonny Eagle Scots by a score of 5-4 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on May 14th.

Emma Barnes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Wako Matsuda also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Thornton Academy's record is now 6-8. As for Bonny Eagle, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-9 record.

Thornton Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-5 win against Westbrook on the 2nd. Bonny Eagle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
