Basketball Game Preview: Hatch Valley Bears vs. Socorro Warriors

Hatch Valley is 0-10 against Socorro since February of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Hatch Valley Bears will head out to face off against the Socorro Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hatch Valley is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Hot Springs, falling 55-31. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Tigers are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Socorro played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Hot Springs 66-37. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Hatch Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Socorro, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

Hatch Valley came up short against Socorro when the teams last played last Tuesday, falling 51-47. Can Hatch Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
