Basketball Recap: The Colorado Springs School Comes Up Short

The Colorado Springs School was the 55-17 winner over Liberty Tree Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Colorado Springs School Kodiaks were outmatched by the Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles and fell 51-22. The Kodiaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liberty Tree Academy found their leader in sophomore Jaydence Smith, who went 9 of 21 en route to 20 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Mendez, who posted nine points along with five boards and five steals.

The Colorado Springs School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Liberty Tree Academy, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Colorado Springs School will challenge Miami-Yoder at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Liberty Tree Academy, they will be playing at home against Poudre Community Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Tree Academy is facing Poudre Community Academy at the right time seeing as Poudre Community Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
