Basketball Game Preview: Waverly Tigers vs. Logan Elm Braves

The Waverly Tigers will square off against the Logan Elm Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Waverly is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Minford on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Waverly took a blow against Minford, falling 62-34. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Falcons are ranked 100th).

Meanwhile, Logan Elm hadn't done well against Amanda-Clearcreek recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Logan Elm walked away with a 54-47 win over Amanda-Clearcreek. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Braves were down 29-15 in the second quarter.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Logan Elm, the win also got them back to even at 11-11.

Waverly came up short against Logan Elm when the teams last played back in January of 2019, falling 67-63. Can Waverly avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
