Volleyball Recap: West Branch Takes a Loss

West Branch lost against Marlington back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors fell 3-1 to the Dukes.

West Branch started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-21, 30-28, 25-12.

Madilyn Hoopes paced West Branch's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hoopes got some help from Kendelle Hoopes and her 15 assists. Kendyll Kaley controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

West Branch's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Marlington, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Branch will face off against rival Alliance at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Marlington is set to take on their familiar foe Minerva at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
