Basketball Game Preview: Neah Bay Red Devils vs. Taholah Chitwhins

Neah Bay and Taholah are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Neah Bay Red Devils will host the Taholah Chitwhins at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Neah Bay has eight straight wins, Taholah has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Neah Bay was fully in charge, breezing past Clallam Bay 78-47. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Taholah came up short against Willapa Valley on Friday and fell 74-63. While losing is never fun, the Chitwhins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Vikings are ranked 118th).

Neah Bay's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.5 points. As for Taholah, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Everything came up roses for Neah Bay against Taholah in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 83-37 win. In that game, Neah Bay amassed a halftime lead of 58-23, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
