Softball Game Preview: Prairie Central Hawks vs. Dwight Trojans

The Prairie Central Hawks will square off against the Dwight Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Prairie Central easily dispatched Woodland on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Prairie Central fell just short of Herscher by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Rylee Galloway made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Abigail Bowden was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Dwight lost 13-1 to St. Bede on Tuesday.

Mckenna Woodcock was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Prairie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dwight, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Prairie Central might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Dwight in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Prairie Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
