Baseball Recap: York Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for York, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer 6-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Dukes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Wyatt Gartner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ashtyn Demuth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

York always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got York back to even at 9-9. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Coincidentally, York and Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer will both be playing St. Paul/Palmer the next time they take the field. Guardian Angels Central Catholic/West Point Beemer will head out to face the Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Dukes will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
