Baseball Game Preview: Pope John Paul II Knights vs. Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints

The Pope John Paul II Knights are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge the Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Pope John Paul II came up short against Ensworth and fell 8-5. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Nate Webb made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mount Juliet Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Red Boiling Springs on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Saints as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Red Boiling Springs' batters probably weren't too happy with Joey Edgerton, who pitched a no hitter.

At the plate, Mount Juliet Christian Academy's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Norwood, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Pope John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mount Juliet Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
