Basketball Recap: St. John's Takes a Loss

St. John was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Kalida Wildcats, falling 57-23. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 692nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 244th).

Kalida's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meredith Bockrath led the charge by going 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Addilyn Huber, who went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Kalida, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's has already played their next match (against St. Henry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kalida has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Ayersville.
