Preview: Benson vs. Willcox
Benson (2-6) and Willcox (5-4) are set to face off this Friday at 7:00 PM. With the two teams stumbling in off of losses, both Willcox and Benson will be hungry for the win.
Benson couldn't quite keep up with Bisbee two weeks ago and ended up losing 18 - 16. All the same, giving sophomore Carson Barney more carries than the previous game paid off since he ran for 77 yards and punched in one touchdown. Barney has been a consistent playmaker for Benson as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, things didn't go well at all for Willcox two weeks ago, where the team lost 50 - 0 to Santa Cruz Valley. Things were already looking bleak at the break as Willcox was down 36 - 0.
The last time they met, Benson really took it to Willcox, winning 52 - 0. Benson had a lot of yards that game (448) and will likely be setting its aim high again. Will it come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
