Preview: Woodlake Tigers vs. Granite Hills Grizzlies

Woodlake is 0-10 against Granite Hills since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Woodlake Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Granite Hills Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Woodlake has struggled recently with 12 losses in a row, while Granite Hills will arrive with four straight wins.

Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Woodlake, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-51 loss to Summit Charter Collegiate Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woodlake in their matchups with Summit Charter Collegiate Academy: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite their loss, Woodlake saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hugo Cruz, who scored 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 37.3% of Woodlake's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Luis Rios, who scored 13 points.

Meanwhile, Granite Hills scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Orosi 75-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Woodlake bumped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Granite Hills, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.

Woodlake took a serious blow against Granite Hills in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 84-42. Can Woodlake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
