Basketball Recap: Cuero Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

Cuero had won two straight road games and Arissa Carbonara did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Cuero Gobblers put the hurt on the Gonzales Apaches with a sharp 60-35 win thanks in part to Carbonara, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 boards. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mauryana Dasilva, who posted six points and six steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.

Cuero has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for Gonzales, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cuero will head out to challenge San Antonio Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cuero is facing San Antonio Memorial at the right time seeing as San Antonio Memorial is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Gonzales, they will head out on the road to square off against John F. Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gonzales will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: John F. Kennedy will have lost four straight heading into Friday's match.
