Basketball Recap: St. Charles Extends Home Winning Streak to 13

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely St. Charles's strategy against Patuxent on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that St. Charles blew the Patuxent Panthers out of the water with a 68-25 final score. The win continues a trend for St. Charles in their matchups with Patuxent: they've now won eight in a row.

St. Charles' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyoko Johnson-Reeves, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 19 points along with six boards and five steals. Johnson-Reeves has become a key player for St. Charles: the team is 8-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaela Spears, who made all 5 shots she took racking up 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

St. Charles smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.
