Volleyball Recap: Rock Falls Comes Up Short

Rock Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastland Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

Rock Falls was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 19 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19.

Kaltrina Lecaj paced Rock Falls' offense, picking up five kills. Lecaj got some help from Miley Bickett and her 13 assists.

Rock Falls' loss dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Eastland, their win bumped their record up to 23-10.

Rock Falls and Eastland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Rockets (ranked 219th) will meet Oregon (ranked 549th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Eastland will square off against Morrison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (167 vs. 385).
