Football Recap: Jefferson Skates Past Manual Arts with Ease

Jefferson had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 37-0 victory over the Manual Arts Toilers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Democrats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Toilers are ranked 557th).

Nyla Gayle threw for 35 yards and one TD. Dalilah Acristian was her top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Brenda Hernandez rushed for 39 yards.

Jefferson's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Manual Arts, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Jefferson will take on rival Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Democrats 7, the Phoenix 10) so any points scored will be well earned.
