Baseball Recap: Antelope Comes Up Short

Antelope had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-10-1 to make it four. They fell just short of the El Dorado Cougars by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 18-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Nick Ehrman stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Coates, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As for El Dorado, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

On El Dorado's side, Joe Parsons was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Parsons is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Boston Melvin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Looking ahead, Antelope will challenge Orland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for El Dorado, they will face off against Liberty Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
