Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Bluefield Beavers

The Princeton Tigers will face off against the Bluefield Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Princeton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with an 80-73 victory over PikeView on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Bluefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 66-55 to Wyoming East. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Warriors are ranked 13th).

Bluefield's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-7. As for Princeton, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Princeton skirted past Bluefield 63-61 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Princeton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bluefield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
