Softball Recap: Penn Kingsmen vs. Bremen Lions        
        
		
            
 Penn came tearing into  Wednesday's  matchup with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   10-5  victory over the Bremen Lions. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Penn also won the last time the pair played  back in May of 2023.
  Margaret Bell looked comfortable as she  tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Shannon Rudge, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Logan Rumble, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-4.
 On Bremen's side,  Mikayla Shively was cooking despite her team's loss,   getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with a  home run and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Yajaira Jimenez, who  went 1-for-4 with a  home run.
 Penn has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record  this season. As for Bremen, they dropped their record down to 9-6 with that  loss, which was their third straight  at home.
 Penn will head out on the road to  challenge  Crown Point at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. One thing working in Penn's favor is that they have posted big  run totals  in their last five games. As for Bremen, they will face off against Cascade at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Bremen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7  runs per game  this season.
