Football Game Preview: South Dade Buccaneers vs. Palmetto Panthers

South Dade is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will head out to square off against the Palmetto Panthers at 3:30 p.m.

South Dade's offense might be in the hot seat on Monday considering what happened against Goleman last Thursday. They were dealt a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Gators.

Meanwhile, Palmetto entered their tilt with Western on Monday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 25-7 win over the Wildcats.

South Dade better keep an eye on Ava Alvarez. She was instrumental in Palmetto's win, throwing for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 44 yards.

Palmetto didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bianca Pacheco and Sienna Lawrence.

South Dade dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Palmetto, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

South Dade might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from Palmetto in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can South Dade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
