Volleyball Recap: Mesquite Takes a Loss

Mesquite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cedar Hill Longhorns. The Skeeters were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Longhorns earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Mesquite took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 0-25, 0-25, 25-0, 15-0.

Mesquite's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Cedar Hill, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 11-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mesquite will square off against rival DeSoto at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cedar Hill is set to face off against their familiar foe Skyline at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
