Baseball Recap: Williams Field Wins High-Profile Match Against Hamilton

Williams Field faced Hamilton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Williams Field sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Hamilton. For the Black Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 5-0 victory the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2015.

Williams Field got a great performance from Carson Huber as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, Huber posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last seven matchups.

At the plate, Malcom Harrison was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 13 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Landry, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Williams Field's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Hamilton, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams Field will face off against Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hamilton, they will challenge Tucson High Magnet School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tucson High Magnet School will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Hamilton surely won't give up without a fight.
